Gunderson Lutheran Statement On Meningitis Outbreak
An outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to steroid shots for back pain has now killed 12 people, with 137 confirmed cases, according to the latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Gunderson Lutheran's Bridget Pfaff says this has been a surprise.
Gundersen Lutheran's patients can rest assured the steroid linked to the outbreak was not used at Gundersen Lutheran. The affected epidural steroid injections were used to treat back pain.
