Educators at a La Crosse elementary school will now go forward with a year round academic calendar. Hamilton Early Learning Center will now see a shortened summer break to six weeks while the rest of the year would alternate between nine weeks of school and three weeks of down time. Hamilton Principal Steve Michaels says a longer summer break causes students to regress too much. Superintendent, Randy Nelson agrees.
