Heating Assistance Expected to Drop This Winter
Heating bills are expected to be higher in the
upper midwest this
winter. But there's still expected to be fewer people
taking advantage of heating assistance in Wisconsin. That's the latest
from the Department of Administration in Madison. The department expects
217 thousand people in the state to get heating assistance this winter, down
from 221 thousand from last winter. A family of four making less
than 47 thousand dollars a year are eligible for heating assistance
benefits. Average benefit is expected to be $240.
