Not too many problems were seen while the Highway 35 project in Onalaska was going along this summer. And even though the $5 million project was finishing ahead of schedule, City Engineer, Jared Holter, says one roadblock almost halted the entire project.

Holter says the completion of the scenic byway was one phase in the overall scheme of the Great River Landing. Other projects coming in the future include the new Cultural Center, BNSF railroad crossing improvements, a riverwalk and Great River Trail improvements.
