Riverboats Draw Curious Tourists To Lax Riverfront

You don't see too many paddle-wheeler boats on the Upper Mississippi any more.

But the boats are back this fall, and sightseers are coming to La Crosse to get a look at them. Dave Clements from the La Crosse Convention and Visitor Bureau says that curiosity is good for the local tourism business. For example, Clements says a group belonging to the GREAT gang resistance program wanted to see a paddlewheeler last week, and they were "in awe" of the American Queen.  That boat arrived in La Crosse this morning for another stop. It has two more visits scheduled here this season...on November 3rd and 7th.
