The La Crosse School District's tax rate will be slightly lower than anticipated. The projected rate was $12.28 when the district planned the budget in July. Now it will be close to $12.13 per $100 thousand home. A 5 cent total drop for taxpayers. Janet Rossiter says it's a good thing the state is giving a $50 match per pupil this year.

The district is down 142 students this year.......and so is the money they would recieve per student. The district board passed an $83.3 million budget last night.
