Market Canopy Going Up This Fall
No farmer's market today in La Crosse's Cameron
park. The season's
over for the market. But construction may begin
there soon for the remainder of the canopy to cover vendors. Market
supporters had done fundraising for a permanent canopy at the park and then got
a big boost from La Crosse native Paul Hanifl, allowing for about half of the
canopy to get built. An additional fifty thousand dollar check recently
from Hanifl as well as 52 thousand dollars from the city will allow the
second half to get built. La Crosse parks director Steve Carlyon says the
canopy should go up this fall and be ready for the start of the market next
spring.
