And they keep digging.  Football fields of contaminated dirt have to be removed from the Mobil Oil Site between Copeland Avenue and the Black River in La Crosse in order to allow development at the prized property.  Question is, what's it going to be once the digging's done?

La Crosse mayor Matt Harter, who made development of the site a top priority of his administration when he was elected almost four years ago.  Crews started removing dirt from the former bulk oil site about three months ago.  It's part of 65 acres that the city hopes to create a comprehensive development plan for.
