A 22 year old Milwaukee area man may be the state's first hunting fatality of the year.

According to public affairs at Fort McCoy, Thomas Stamborski was found dead with a gunshot wound around midday, Saturday in an approved Fort McCoy hunting area. Stamborski, a non Department of Defense affiliated civilian, was at Fort McCoy deer hunting.

The death is under investigation by the Special Agents from the Army's
Criminal Investigation Command. No additional information is being released at this time.
