La Crosse's fire department appears to be more accepting of putting in the city's first roundabout.  The department had worried that a proposed roundabout at seventh and Cass would cause problems for the city's fire trucks due to size limitations.   But, at a public works board meeting today division fire chief Craig Snyder says new information from the DOT eases those fears

The public works board is set to determine by January whether it will recommend a roundabout or a realigned, signalled intersection for seventh and Cass.  Construction on the project is set to begin in 2015.
