Backyard Chicken Sunset Coming in New Year

The sunset provision for backyard chickens in La Crosse seems like it might be no more than a formality at this point.  The city council this month is poised to approve a whole slew of new permits for keeping backyard chickens in the city.  It's year two for the permits coming up.  The year when the chicken ordinance is slated to expire by default if not re-approved by the city council.  And councilman Paul Medinger believes another approval shouldn't be a problem

The sunset provision on the chicken ordinance was Medinger's idea and helped some council members agree to it.
