Clerk Invalidates Most Signatures on Kader Recall Petition

For now, there is no recall election for the La Crosse city council president.  La Crosse's city clerk says the recall petition filed by the Restore La Crosse committee is insufficient and, for several different reasons, doesn't have enough valid signatures to spark a recall election.  The group needed 152 signatures.  They turned in 258.  But clerk Teri Lehrke says only about a hundred of those are valid.  Most of the disqualifying signatures are those that have 702 Franciscan Way listed as an address.  The clerk says that's not a valid address for a recall since it's the general mailing address for students at Viterbo.  The recall group has five days to fix the problems with the signatures.
