Community Theatre Wraps Up Last Show On 5th Avenue Before Moving To Riverfront

It wasn't your normal Sunday matinee at the La Crosse Community Theatre.

Sunday's performance of 'A Christmas Story' was the last LCT show in the downtown building it has occupied for 44 years.  The group moved into the former 5th Avenue movie theatre in November 1968, and has put on about 300 plays in the building ever since.  Morrie Enders was the theatre's director for 18 of those years, and he was back in La Crosse for the occasion, playing Santa Claus in the holiday show.  Six weeks from now, LCT will be performing 'Macbeth' in its new theatre along the Mississippi.
