County Plow Cause Of Fire In BRF

A Christmas Eve fire causes heavy smoke damage to the Jackson County Highway

Department Shop.

According to Black River Falls Fire Chief Steve Schreiber, heavy black smoke and flames appeared to be coming from a county dump truck/snow plow. Firefighters broke out a window to attack the fire. Once inside, it was confirmed a county dump truck was the source of the fire, which had extended into the roof of County Shop. Damage estimates are unknown at this time.

Chief Schreiber says the fire appears to have started in the truck's cab or engine compartment area.
