Shilling Says Mining Bill Will Get Strong Look

A proposal to build a mine in northern Wisconsin went down the shaft last March after a Florida company pulled out of a project. That after the state Senate failed to pass a bill supporting the proposed mine. The defeated bill would have streamlined the permitting process. Now, in 2013, State Senator, Jennifer Shilling says the legislation is back and could be better then ever.

Gogebic Taconite yanked its plans to open an iron mine just south of Lake Superior after the state Senate rejected mining reforms.  They said they would be interested in sitting down once again is legislation comes forward this year.
