Fluoride Returns To Holmen In April

There are still some objections to fluoridation in Holmen, but the practice will resume there on April 1st.

The Holmen Village Board voted 4-to-3 last night to resume fluoridation, which was halted two years ago, just days after it started. Public works director Dean Olson says the delay until April will give citizens time to prepare for fluoride in tap water, if they're already using fluoride treatments.  In 2011, Holmen's board suspended fluoridation until the state could recommend a proper fluoride level. That recommendation finally happened this month.
