The Onalaska park department tackled the subject of youth sports last fall, when it sent out a survey on whether tackle football should expand to lower grades.

Families are saying, keep the program as it is.  About 80 families answered the survey, with about half of those responding saying 3rd and 4th graders should continue playing flag football. A previous survey years ago also showed little demand for starting tackle football as early as 3rd grade.
