Secretary of State Pushes for Bigger Job Responsibility

If republican lawmakers in Madison have their way, the secretary of state's office will become a little less important.  Even while the current secretary is pushing for a little more relevancy.  Secretary Doug La follette wants his office to become a one stop shop for businesses wanting to start or move to Wisconsin.   He says, that's what's expected now

The state senate this week passed a bill that would remove the office's authority to schedule publication of laws passed by the legislature and signed by the governor.
