Mayos News Needs State Help

Big news came out of the city of Rochester Wednesday. That is when we learned the Mayo Clinic wants to move forward with a huge project that could create 42,000 new jobs. Mayo's Lisa Clark says it's not just news for Rochester.

The Destination Medical Center project, or DMC, is expected to bring in more than $5 billion to Rochester and its surrounding communities over 20 years. In order for the plan to work, Mayo needs help from taxpayers, said the company's president and CEO Dr. John Noseworthy. He said the state should provide more than $500 million in bonds to pay for Mayo's future infrastructure needs.
