5 staffing positions have been cut in the Westby School District and more could come says Superintendent, Chuck Norton. He says the cuts will not cover the entire proposed $507 thousand budget deficit, with the remainder of the deficit being covered by referendum funds. He explains the May 7th referendum.

The motion was approved 6-1, with the single nay vote coming from one board member, who stated he approved of going to referendum, but would like to have the dollar amounts increased.
