Dolan And Burke Still Rated In Top Half Of Pope Hopefuls
Who has the best odds of being the new pope?
One bookmaker that's posting odds has two former Wisconsin bishops among the top one-third of candidates. New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan, formerly the archbishop of Milwaukee, gets 20-to-1 odds from the 'paddy power-dot-com' web site. Former La Crosse Bishop Raymond Burke is farther down the list, at 66-to-1. The website's favorite candidate at this point is Italian Cardinal Angelo Scola. The site even rates the chances of U-2 singer Bono becoming pope...at one thousand to one.
