Forest Hills Won't Look the Same When Green Finally Arrives
Now that spring is finally here--at least, according to the calendar--golf won't be far behind. Those hitting the links at Forest Hills in La Crosse this year won't find the familiar hulking old restaurant and clubhouse that was in place for more than a century. That building's been torn down and the pro-shop has been converted into a one-stop shop for the course. And that's just how it's going to be for the next three years or so, says city park and rec director, Steve Carlyon
Until then, the pro-shop at the course has new restrooms, a patio, and--quite importantly--ability to provide golfers with a hot dog and a cold beer.
