Callahan Starts Sainthood Proceedings For Father Joe
Some ten thousand saints have been honored by the Catholic Church over its two thousand year history. And one more......this one from La Crosse...could soon join that list. Bishop William Callahan with the La Crosse Diocese has started the process of sainthood for former priest, Father Joe Walijewski.
Callahan says after the 5th anniversary of his death, all in attendance said they believe that Father Joe had saintly ways and he's optimistic they'll have no trouble convincing the Vatican.....or the Pope. Callahan says the process has to go through several channels and can take several years.
