Finance Committee to Vote on Oktoberfest Room Tax Plan

Room tax money could be diverted back into La Crosse city hall general fund coffers under a scheme under consideration by the city council this month.  The plan is to use room tax revenue to offset costs charged to Oktoberfest by the city for things like police overtime.  Council member Andrea Richmond has advocated for that since the city started charging Oktoberfest for parades last year

A council committee will vote on the plan at a meeting tonight.
