Surveillance Approved by City Finance Committee

A city council committee has backed a plan to put up cameras in downtown La Crosse.  The city's finance committee says yes to a surveillance system that will involve dozens of cameras which the city will operate.  Police chief Ron Tischer says there's nothing to fear from the surveillance

A private organization will fundraise for the cameras.  City police will operate them after that.  Annual maintenance is estimated at about a hundred thousand dollars per year.
