FAA Suspends Airport Tower Closures

The Federal Aviation Administration is delaying, until June 15th, the planned

closures of many air traffic control towers including those at both the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport and the La Crosse Municipal Airport. Several lawsuits have been filed against the F.A.A.

Representative Ron Kind had written letters and spoken publicly about the need to keep the towers open at the two airports, citing the important roles they play beyond providing excellent service to the flying public.

This week he said these closures will harm aviation safety, economic activity and national security, so he's hoping the delay could ultimately result in a reversal of this bad decision.
