Westby Referendum Coming
The scissors in Westby are now dull. Over the past nine years the school district has made budget reductions totaling more than $2.4 million. Westby School District Superintendent, Chuck Norton says they can't cut anymore.
That's why, on May 7th, they are asking voters to approve a 3 year, $1.2 million referendum. Norton says past reductions involved the closing of the Chaseburg School, the release of 19 staff members, and deeper cuts annually to department and co curricular budgets.
