Medical Marijuana Coming To Minnesota?
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Supporters of legalizing marijuana for medical use are putting their plan forward at Minnesota's Capitol. But leaders of the group that will lead the charge have previously said they are not expecting any action on the proposal until the 2014 session. This session is due to conclude in a few weeks.
Details of the proposal were to be discussed at a news conference Thursday. Boosters say they have bipartisan support in both chambers.
Minnesota lawmakers approved a medical marijuana bill in 2009. But then-Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty vetoed the measure. Current Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton has voiced opposition to legalization of marijuana for any use.
