Rental Regulation Changes Raises Red Flags

Tenants in Wisconsin may find themselves with a lower level of protection if a bill getting a hearing today in Madison becomes law.  The bill increases landlords' authority in a number of ways, complains Colin Gillis from Wisconsin Alliance for Tenants Rights.  But it also removes some much needed oversight

La Crosse currently has on the books a rental inspection process to which all residential rentals are subjected.  it's unclear at this point how the legislation under consideration in Madison could impact those rules.
