Green Light for Green Projects

LaCrosse county will use stimulus money to fund three green projects.  Last night the LaCrosse county board passed a resolution to bring in over 219 thousand dollars in grant money to help pay for a solar water heater in the jail and at Lakeview Care Center.  That will take up two hundred grand of the grant.  The remainder will be used to help rotary lights chance to energy efficient L.E.D. bulbs.  Even though the measure passed board members who opposed funding for the rotary lights project cited reasons such as the lights aren't american made, the light display doesn't cover all religions and a few others don't like the idea of the county picking and choosing which charities get money.
