Gay Marriage a Long Way Off in Wisconsin

Repealing Wisconsin's constitutional amendment banning gay marriage will make legalizing those marriages in the state much more difficult than it has been for Minnesota.  Partially, says Katie Belanger, with Fair Wisconsin, because the state's constitution is so hard to amend anyway.  And republicans are in charge in Madison.  And public sentiment isn't quite there yet

Back in 2006, 59% of voters agreed to the constitutional amendment that banned gay marriage in Wisconsin.  Minnesota had no such amendment on the books and became the 12th state to legalize gay marriage this week.
