Tomah District Security Upgrades Coming
Shortly after the Sandy Hook shootings in Connecticut, the administration at the Tomah School District implemented a plan that required all visitors sign in and wear a name tag. It wasn't enough.
Tomah Superintendent Cindy Zahrte says that, coupled with 10 buildings in the district needing upgrades, led the school board to approve new security to be installed in all the buildings. Cost will be close to $400 thousand and should take 2 years to complete.
