Xcel Back for More

Higher prices for gas and electricity for Xcel energy customers could be on the way again.  The power company is seeking permission for a fifth rate hike in as many years with an application filed with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.  if approved as filed, typical residential customers would see an increase of $6.50 per month for electricity and $2.50 per month for gas.  Xcel says the electricity rate hike is for ongoing infrastructure improvements while most of the gas increase is for an environmental clean up of a company-owned site in Ashland.
