City Engineering Department Doubles Down on Speed Tables

New proposals for traffic controls on 33rd street in La Crosse are on the way, apparently.  Mayor Tim Kabat just recently asked the engineering department to come up with other options besides big speed bumps--or, speed tables--for 33rd.   That was after concerns from the fire department, the city's bus service as well as nearly two hundred people who live near 33rd who signed a petition asking that the speed tables be reconsidered.   They have.  And the engineering department apparently has come up with something.  Their idea is to make them even larger.  We've been told that proposal will be in front of the city board of public works on Monday.
