Marsh Lead Study Continues
While conducting a tour of the La Crosse River marsh last weekend, Richard Frost of the Myrick Hixon Eco Park noticed traps set by UW-L professors looking at lead in the water. It's a continuing study being done on lead gun pellets left in the marsh years ago by the La Crosse Gun Club.
And the high levels of lead has led to contamination in the soil, which could potentially be toxic to wildlife living there. 4 UW-L Professors are continuing their work in the marsh.
