Congressional Report Has No Teeth

A federal fiscal watchdog agency has come out with a report that could

could lead to some Wisconsin hospitals losing special Medicare payments. 3 of them in the local area. Michael Richards with Gunderson Health System, says the report is in it's early stages.

A broader proposal would strip special payment status from two thirds of the nation's 1,328 critical access hospitals, those not considered to be in remote areas, including the 42 hospitals in Wisconsin. Richards says the report does not have much bite to it.
