Uncertainty Over New Rental Rules
While the city of La Crosse is preparing to tweak its rental registration and inspection processes, a bill heading to the governor's desk may mean those rules won't apply at all. The state senate this week has given final legislative approval to a bill that could mostly end registration and inspection in the city for rentals. The new rental rules would also strengthen landlords' abilities to kick out tenants, throw out their property and tow their cars.
