Frac sand mining company, U.S. Silica, uses the credo

People-Planet-Prosperity. One reason they are being welcomed into the state's Green Tier Program by the DNR.


The DNR's Greg Breese says the green tier program is not one that your company can just breeze into.

The company, who has a mine in Sparta, is also a co-founder of the Wisconsin Industrial Sand Association, which requires every member of the association to be enrolled in the Green Tier Program. Applicants to Tier One must have a good environmental record, commit to superior environmental performance and implement an environmental management system.
