New Tips Come In For Winona's Baby Angel

Winona County investigators say they won’t give up on finding the parents of

the infant girl found dead Labor Day 2012 floating just south of Winona inside a bag in the Mississippi River. 2 tips came in over the weekend to the sheriff's department. The Gopher State's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is looking into those leads.


The seven pound body was wrapped with a green T-shirt, encased in two brown plastic garbage bags and then placed inside a canvas tourist tote. Investigators named the child, Baby Angel, because of several glass angel figurines were found wrapped alongside the body.


Winona County deputies served as pallbearers at the unknown baby's funeral.
