City Council Committee Will Talk Chicken
The long-anticipated chicken ordinance is finally ready for the big introduction into the La Crosse city council process this week. A committee tonight takes the first crack at the ordinance, which would allow hens in backyards. It was requested by a woman who lives in the district of council member Bruce Ranis. He's had a little feedback about the idea, one comment from a guy who thinks backyards in La Crosse are just too small for chickens. The backyard chicken proposal is patterned after Madison's chicken rule that allows four hens in a backyard.
