Supreme Court Takes Up Dead Tree Complaint From Tremplo Co.

A dispute between neighbors over chemical spraying in Trempealeau County could lead to a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling.

The high court says it will review a complaint by a couple from the Independence area, who want their neighbor held liable for killing dozens of trees on their land. The neighbor hired a forestry company to spray herbicide on his farm land, but the chemical apparently also destroyed trees on nearby property. An appeals court asked the Supreme Court to decide whether the neighbor can be sued for property damages, for hiring the foresters.
