Dems File Another Kapanke Complaint

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate is filing a complaint against state Sen. Dan Kapanke, a Republican candidate for Congress in the 3rd District.

The complaint expected to be filed Wednesday with the Government Accountability Board alleges that Kapanke illegally used money from a nonprofit foundation that accepts money from groups that employ lobbyists to pay off debt he owes to the city of La Crosse.

The complaint alleges Kapanke used nearly $17,000 from the foundation to pay the city back for lighting it installed at the field where the La Crosse Loggers play. Kapanke owns the Northwoods League team.

Kapanke did not immediately return a message seeking comment. He and Bruce Evers are seeking the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Ron Kind.
