Taser Rescues Cop at Stop of Hit and Run Driver

A 47 year-old guy in la Crosse faces a whole laundry list of charges after an apparent hit and run last night. Police say Carlos Williams was drunk when he rear-ended a car at red light downtown. They say Williams drove off after the accident, leaving behind two startled women, one of whom is seven months pregnant. Cops eventually chased Williams down but they say he tried to drive off with a cop half way inside the car. He had to be tazed twice before they could shackle him. Besides being liquored up, they say Williams had also taken some sleeping meds before getting behind the wheel of his car.
