Warm Temps Little Relief for Freezing Lines
As welcome as forty degree days are, the warmer temps won't immediately prevent the very pressing problem of close to freezing water lines in the city of La Crosse. Not when the frost level has now exceeded the point at which water and sewer lines are buried. We asked water utility manager, Mark Johnson how long before he expects a thaw enough to remove the danger of frozen lines.
Actually, far before then, but it will take more than just a few days above freezing to get there. And then, says Johnson, there's spring flooding to worry about.
