Vernon County Crash Injures Two

A nasty two car crash in Vernon County Wednesday morning sent two to local

hospitals. The crash on Highway 14 between Westby and Coon Valley involved 23 year old Karisa Timmerman of La Crosse who lost control on snow and slush. Her car crossed the center of the highway and  struck a westbound pickup truck driven by 48 year old Randall Brueggeman of rural Cashton. Timmerman's car spun around and stopped in the eastbound lane and caught fire, but was quickly extinguished. Brueggeman's truck went off the right side of the westbound lane and crashed into a snowbank. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and both  drivers were wearing seat belts.  The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
