DMI Wants In On State Downtown Program

Downtown Mainstreet INC. in La Crosse wants to become a part of the Wisconsin

Main Street Program and is asking businesses to write letters to DMI supporting that. Communities selected to participate in the program initially receive five years of free, intensive technical assistance. Wayne Oliver is the President of Downtown Mainstreet INC. He says there's nothing wrong with a little boost from the state.

The end goal is to enable participating communities to professionally manage a downtown or historic commercial district that is stable, physically attractive, competitive and visible.
