Town Of Onalaska Incorporation Plan Stopped In Court

Late last year, the town of Onalaska collected hundreds of signatures on petitions to incorporate as a village...

But that campaign now has been shot down in court. A La Crosse judge has ruled that language in the town's petition was not clear enough about what property would be included in a proposed Village of Midway. The ruling pleases the village of Holmen, which went to court to fight Onalaska's move, because it wants to annex some of the same land.  On Friday, the Onalaska Town Board will have a special meeting to review the court ruling.
