Kind And Kabat Dish Out Awards

On Tuesday, U.S. Representative Ron Kind and La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat today

presented awards noting successful projects supported by Community Development Block Grants. Congressman Ron Kind talked with us about how important CDBG grants are to the area.

The People’s Food Co-Op and Authenticom, which received small business development loans, was recognized for their business innovation and job creation.

Western Technical College was honored for a partnership in which the city of La Crosse demolishes homes with a blighting influence on neighborhoods and WTC wood tech students build new homes.

The Kane Street Community Garden and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse were honored for their innovative approaches to building communities.
