Last Half Of Sorting Shutdown In Lax Still Planned For Next Year
More service cuts ahead at the La Crosse Post Office...
The Postal Service confirms that the second half of a local processing shutdown that began last year will take place in 2015. The first part of the closure led to all outgoing mail in La Crosse being sent to St. Paul for sorting. Employees in La Crosse still sort mail for local delivery once it arrives from St. Paul, but that local sorting will end sometime next year. Wausau and Eau Claire also are being affected by the latest round of postal consolidations.
