Officers arrest a man for murder after he turned himself into the department. The Prairie du Chien Police Chief, Chad Abram, says 26-year-old Michael John Burroughs turned himself into custody around 9:30 Sunday morning. After being interviewed by officers, he was arrested early Sunday afternoon.

Burroughs is accused of murdering Shannon Fischer, who disappeared in December of 2006. The two were dating. The chief says Burroughs will be in court this afternoon and the hopes, according to the Chief, are he is charged with homicide.

He wouldn’t comment on where the body is or how Fischer was murder as it is way to early in the investigation.
